RECORDS LIBRARIAN, NEW YORK CITY
New opportunity for a librarian with strong records experience! A premier international engineering/architectural firm is seeking an experienced Records Librarian for its large and busy New York office. Job will emphasize technology, metadata, and electronic data management in alignment with current industry standards.
THE POSITION: Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the New York Office Records Center, participating in the management of the firm’s project records which include drawings, correspondence, legal and department files. Perform quality control on classification codes on incoming documents. Assist in records management software administration and development. Perform quality control audits on data. Manage and maintain the firm’s digital drawing library. Develop Records Management training program for staff to cover classification system, retention and general departmental policies. Respond to information requests: database searching, research, document retrieval, circulation control, reporting and interaction with staff. Maintain vendor relationships (warehouse, software, etc.). Edit Records section of firm’s content management system. Participate in special projects—email management, electronic records management, etc.—as needed. Supervise records clerk.
REQUIREMENTS: MLS and minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar corporate setting. RIM certification preferred but equivalent experience/qualifications will be considered. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work well with project managers in particular, and staff in general, in a very demanding, fast-paced environment.
